ZOA+ Powder pre-workout supplement launches exclusively into GNC
“Through this partnership with GNC, a powerhouse brand and catalyst towards maximum performance, we are changing the game for what lies ahead for our ZOA Warriors and making strides towards an energized future," said Johnson, who serves as chief energy officer at the company.
ZOA+ Powder first launched online direct-to-consumer in September 2023 and is now sold at GNC stores across the country and online at GNC.com.
5-in-1 formula
ZOA+ Powder, presented as an evolution of the brand’s pre-workout drink, is a five-in-one dose stacked with L-Citrulline and SETRIA L-Glutathione for nitric oxide support; beta alanine, betaine anhydrous and CON-CRÉT Creatine HCl for endurance; L-Tyrosine, Alpha GPC and ginkgo biloba for focus; caffeine from green coffee and Ilex Guayusa for energy; and electrolytes for hydration. The 25-serving tubs come in fruit punch, wild berry and cherry lime flavors.
“With a focus on leading ingredients and commitment to quality, ZOA aims to give athletes a premium product that not only maximizes performance but also gives them a sense of empowerment and confidence,” Dave Rienzi, chief innovation officer at ZOA and fitness professional, told NutraIngredients-USA ahead of the 2023 launch.
He also stressed the importance of combining fueling needs for a holistic approach to a productive workout with a “better-for-you boost” that supports hydration but also intensity and endurance to avoid mid-workout crashes.
Aside from matching ingredients to functional benefits on label, ZOA+ Powder carries the NSF Certified for Sport seal as guarantee that the product is free of banned substances and contaminants.
Fueling something bigger
The ZOA+ Powder is accompanied by the tagline “Fuel Something Bigger” and is part of a wider campaign to affect how people consume and use energy to reach their full potential and inspire others.
This ethos, Rienzi previously explained, is embodied in what the brand has called the Rock’s Warriors, a select group of top-tier collegiate athletes including basketball forward Angel Rose, softball infielder Amaya Gainer, basketball guard Hansel Enmanuel and football players Marvin Harris Jr., Drake May, Brock Bowers and Kam Kinchens.
“Zoa is all about being authentic and going beyond the individual to contribute to something bigger, which drew me in because I have always fought to beat people’s perceptions of me and empower athletes like myself,” Enmanuel shared in his ZOA testimonial. “Collaborating with The Rock and the other warriors is an amazing platform and program for me to help other athletes strive for greatness, too.”
Members of the larger ZOA community are known as the Zoa Warriors, who Renzi said “share this commitment to forward momentum and improved well-being, one day at a time.”
The ZOA+ Powder enters a global pre-workout supplement market that Future Market Insights predicted will grow from over $20 billion in 2023 to nearly $37 billion by 2033.
