Henkel KgaA has agreed to sell its chemical division Cognis to a
consortium of financial investors comprising of Schroder Ventures
and Goldman Sachs Capital Partners.
The Board of Directors of Béghin-Say, chaired by Jérôme de
Pelleport, met on 10 September 2001 to approve the consolidated
financial statements for the six months ended 30 June 2001.
After months of baited breath soft drinks giant PepsiCo Inc.
finally obtained the approval, albeit by a hair's breadth, to buy
Quaker Oats Co. and its successful Gatorade brand.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is getting ready to vote as

proposed $13.8 billion acquisition of Gatorade sports drink maker

German chemicals group Bayer AG is edging towards a deal to buy the
agrochemicals arm of Franco-German drugs group Aventis SA for
around Euro 7.25 billion, including debt.
