This year’s Expo West was chock full of innovations in gut health, offering a variety of benefits for humans to maintain optimal digestive health. But what about the 39 trillion microbes that call our bodies home?

“We commonly think of vitamin supplements, good for our human self. This one is actually good for the microbes in your gut, the second part of our body that we sometimes ignore. So it feeds the microbes of the gut and it’s your standard VMS product, but it's directed towards the gut microbes. So it's your vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin B, coenzyme Q10 and magnesium all put together into a single daily supplement that you can take to feed your gut microbiome,” explained Sunny Jain, CEO and founder of Sun Genomics.

Jain launched Floré Bloom, a prebiotic that works synergistically with Floré, the brand’s first product.

The rapidly expanding global prebiotics market size was valued at $8.95 billion in 2020 and is projected to grow at a CAGR of 7% until 2030, indicating that there is significant demand for innovative dietary supplements with digestive health advantages, according to Quince Marketing.

While Floré Bloom is not personalized, the brand’s flagship product is. The probiotic is developed using a gut test that determines which ingredients will be inside the capsule.

“I personalize, my car, my house, my TV, my laptop, so why not personalize our food, our diet, our supplements? Personalizing creates a much more impactful effect because it's actually taking your biology to understand what's going to best benefit you. That's why we take that gut test first– your own biology– and then figure out what are the right ingredients to put together based off that biology. That's personalization.”

Floré was recently named a finalist in the NutraIngredients Awards for Product of the Year: Probiotic. To enter the NutraIngredients-USA Awards, click here. The deadline for submissions is on Monday, April 11.
