Canada-based CK Nutraceuticals has extended its North American distribution agreement with Chile-based Maqui New Life for the promotion and distribution of the Maqui berry-derived Delphinol and MaquiBright ingredients.

Maqui (Aristotelia chilensis), a native plant that grows wild in the forests of Southern Chile, yields berries that reportedly possess unique amounts of antioxidant cyanidins and delphinidins. MNL’s proprietary Maqui Berry extracts are the subject of six published human clinical studies reportedly demonstrating multiple therapeutic benefits at a low dosage of 60 mg daily, said the company.

Delphinol is positioned to support healthy blood glucose management, while there is also data to support a role in promoting healthy skin.

MaquiBright provides natural lubrication to dry eyes (an important benefit for today’s screen-dependent society). MaquiBright is the headline ingredient in NOW’s Eye Moisturize with MaquiBright, which won the 2023 NutraIngredients-USA Award for Botanical Product of the Year.

Commenting on their decision, the NutraIngredients-USA Award judges said: “With so much time now spent in front of a screen, irritated eyes due to dryness is a growing problem. NOW’s Eye Moisturize with MaquiBright marks the beginning of a new product category!”

Making Delphinol and MaquiBright available to a broader nutraceutical audience within North America

On the partnership with MNL, CK Nutraceuticals president, Michael Chernyak, said: “We are thrilled to continue to partner with Maqui New Life in the North American nutraceutical market.  Science and innovation are at the core of what we do and how we think, and we are very much aligned with MNL in this respect.  We’re highly optimistic that North America-based dietary supplement formulators will continue to embrace the tremendous therapeutic value inherent in both Delphinol and MaquiBright.”

Claudio Rabuco, co-founder and COO of Maqui New Life, added: “We look forward to continuing to support CK Nutraceuticals in making Delphinol and MaquiBright available to a broader nutraceutical audience within North America.  CK is highly regarded and established in this market, which is a key growth area for us.  We are committed to continued scientific research, to further substantiate the expanding range of valuable therapeutic benefits from our proprietary Maqui Extracts.”
