Outside of the exhibition halls, this year’s Expo West has organized a full program of education sessions.

Here is a collection of the supplement-specific panels and talks providing insights into the emerging consumer trends, latest research and shifting regulatory and market forces shaping the future of the industry.

Kicking off the show on March 4, A Growing Women’s Health Market: The Perimenopause & Menopause Opportunity will explore the evolving women’s health supplements market, the growing demand for supplements to ease menopause symptoms and opportunities for innovative product solutions in this space. (March 4, 9 to 10 a.m., Marriott, Platinum Ballroom 5).

Immediately following is a Pills Pay the Bills: How Supplement Brands Are Partnering with Natural Retailers to Thrive in a Changing Market session, connecting brands and retailers to discuss the cultivation of the relationship between the supplement industry and natural retail as it evolves in the 21st century (March 4, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Marriott, Platinum Ballroom 5).

Ashwagandha: What’s New & What’s Next will cover the latest advancements, research and market trends surrounding ashwagandha and explore how to identify and maintain product integrity and the outlook for the herb. Speakers include Tieraona Low Dog, MD, Jordan Rubin, founder Garden of Life and co-founder Ancient Nutrition, Scott Dicker, senior director of market insights at SPINS, Larisa Pavlick, regulatory program manager at New Hope Network and Dr. Sidney Sudberg, co-founder, president and chief scientific officer at Alkemist Labs (March 4, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Marriott, Platinum Ballroom 3).

Speakers at Optimizing Sexual & Hormonal Health: Wellness Solutions for Men & Women session will discuss the booming market for sexual health supplements, the connection between sexual, hormonal and reproductive wellness as integral to overall health and how consumers are taking agency in this area through home testing and monitoring and personalization (March 4, 12 to 1 p.m., Marriott, Platinum Ballroom 5).

The Beyond Digestion: Your Microbiome’s Hidden Impact on Whole-Body Health session will explore how gut bacteria influence human health beyond digestion, unpacking research and insights into the microbiome’s role in mood, immunity and metabolism (March 5, 1 to 2 p.m., Marriott, Platinum Ballroom 1).

A China Natural Products Market Briefing with Loren Isralesen, founder and president of the United Natural Products Alliance, and Peter McMath, chief revenue officer at WPIC Marketing + Technologies, will provide an overview of the Chinese natural products market, trends, case studies and the China GACC Registration Single Window. (March 5, 1:15 to 1:45 p.m.).

The State of Supplements session will bring together Nutrition Business Journal’s Bill Giebler, Rick Polito and Erika Craft, Ben Bristol, executive leader for supplements at Whole Foods Market, Tim Avila, founder and president at Systems Bioscience and Noah Voreades, founder and managing director at GenBiome Consulting (March 6, 2025 10:30 to 12:00 p.m.).

That afternoon, an expert panel will discuss the power of omega-3 fatty acids in supporting whole-body health at the cellular level during the Unlocking the Power of Omega-3s: Science, Sustainability & Global Health. Panelists include Bill Harris, PhD, FASN, founder of OmegaQuant, Ellen Schutt, managing director of the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3s (GOED), and Karla Schmidt, CN, global education manager at Nordic Naturals, who will discuss the latest research, global health impacts and the overall importance of omega-3 supplementation.
