Formulations are taking on new forms – literally. SupplySide West gave companies a chance to showcase a number of new products– and formats– as brands embrace innovation.

While gummies aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, it’s clear show-goers are hungry for something more.

“A lot of people are talking about gummies. That seems to be a big topic, but a lot of people are also talking about other applications that sound really cool to me like paper that you just put on your tongue that would dissolve,” said Amy Summers, founder and president of Pitch Publicity.

Isabella Davis of Nutrition Business Advisors said she also saw a lot new edible ways to take vitamins.

“The most exciting thing I've seen is a freeze-dried vitamin that’s made out of fruit and then it contained a plethora of multivitamins and it tasted really good,” Davis said.

Sheldon Baker, CEO, Baker Dillion Group, was drawn to something sweeter.  “There's a chocolate company here and they are able to infuse virtually any supplement ingredient into their chocolate, including CBD. It's a company based in New Jersey which just legalized recreational cannabis.”

“Gummies are the talk right now, but people are looking for different delivery systems,” noted Stephen Lukawski of Fruit d’Or Nutraceuticals. “I'm seeing different companies involved in different oral strips, oral melts, jelly beans and lozenges. And that's why I'm excited to see.”

Business promoter Dinesh Reddy, CEO of Aavishkar Oral Strips, said he's very motivated by all the positive feedback that he's heard.

“We eat, we breath everything oral dissolving strips and we got very good testimonials. Many people are coming here from 15, 20, 25 years, and they say that this is something very unique,” said Reddy. “So it really keeps me very excited.”
